the thing was good. then we checked out another thing. and we learned about the thing.
Our cell phones died. Suddenly. Maybe it was the cat who chews through our battery charging cord, or perhaps it was just time. Either way, new phones were desperately needed. And AT&T was no help, so we tried Sprint. All things being equal, we probably should have gone with sprint. In the AT&T store, they told us that the reason why we can't get free phones for resigning our contract (even though we've been with the company for years) is that there is a slew of people standing around getting paid who need to get their money from someone, so it should be us.
Solution: order phones online.
Paela won't eat from a spoon. At least, not sweet potatoes, oatmeal, or bananas.
Solution: One day, I was eating a banana and gave her a chunk to play with. She ate it. Then we put cheerios in front of her. She downed them by the handful. Our child can't stand being fed, she wants to do it herself. Which is fine by us. Babies have to get to that point eventually, so why not now? Foods she loves: cheerios, nanners, advocados, rice, applesauce. She can't eat applesauce on her own, but she eats it because her daddy eats it with her.
Problem to solve: Star cat's food is suspiciously the same size as cheerios. Everytime we turn our backs and forget to hide the cat's food, we find Paela in it.
A self-feeding Paela makes picnics easier, for sure. We went on a nice picnic before the Superlight exhibition Saturday evening and Paela played in the public fountains. One of my colleages picked her up to play with her and she panicked.
And places for rent in the downtown San Jose area are dumps. Real, ghettoized dumps. Not even remotely "full of character." Just trashy places. So we keep looking and keep doing walkthroughs in the hopes of finding something closer to Rebecca's work and graduate school.
PS. Don't buy a Canon digital camera. The quality is just terrible. I wish we had gotten a Nikon.
